The Lawsen (or Laursen, depending on who you
talk to) Building was constructed around 1920, but it wasn't called the Railwaymen's Club until the repeal of prohibition in 1932. Between 1981 and 2016, when it
closed, the popular venue hosted live music nightly, attracting
bands like Radiohead, Los Lobos and k.d.lang.
